Artist Statement:
A scent, a scene, a word, an object, an expression. These are all elements of a story, your story – my story. A small element loaded by an emotionally impactful snapshot in one’s life. These personal moments, these moments of ‘being’ are salad parts of the whole. At the time they may be insignificant and a moment beyond notice; however, in a time of reflection the moment bubbles to the surface and brings a deep sense of joy, of despondency, of connection, of fear, of vulnerability.
It is not the grand moments or objects that create a story. It is the incremental scene which cumulatively weaves one’s personal symbology and narrative. It is through the representation of my personal moments that I hope to evoke and resonate with the viewers a place in their personal timeline. There is a story behind every image. My goal is creating something that speaks to the viewer’s joy, their discomfort, their journey. Something they can reflect upon and take them back to their moment - whatever that moment needs to be.
We are all connected by the human experience and all the disparate and disjointed parts that come with it.
